HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Officials say they've uncovered an organized crime ring in Harris County.
The Harris County Constable's Office says six men worked together, burglarizing vehicles from June through August this year.
Hunter Evans, 17, Logan Horak, 19, Austin Krolczyk, 17, Alegandro Garza, 20, Matthew Post, 19, and Michael Hughes, 19, are all charged with engaging in organized crime.
Officials say the suspects stole items from vehicles in the Cypress Hill MUD, Cypress Lakes, and Fairfield areas. The suspects would then use the cards make purchases at local stores, authorities say.
They allegedly broke into Evie Adams' car and took her bank card.
"All the compartments were open in my car: the glove box, the middle compartment," Adams says. "And everything that was in it was taken out. it was spread all over the car, my sungalsses, cable cords, phone cords."
She tells Eyewitness News she was shocked because her neighborhood is largely crime free.
"I felt violated and kind of scared, wondering are they gonna come back, are they gonna come try to take things from my house, are they gonna come back in the middle of the night."
They allegedly stole a credit card from a car on Trinity Trail, and a checkbook and GPS from these two cars on Bladenboro drive. The owner of those vehicles tells us he didn't report it because he thought it would be a waste of law enforcement manpower.
Perhaps the most brazen theft, taking night vision goggles, a bulletproof vest, and a rifle from a marked Harris County sheriffs office vehicle on Obelisk Bay Drive.
"If they're brave enough to do that there's no telling what else they could have done or to what extent," Adams wonders.
Deputies apparently got a break in the burglaries when they were called to a suspect's home on a disturbance call. They say they found several stolen items in the home, which were seized and eventually led investigators to many other stolen items at local pawn shops. They reportedly sold them for drug money.
Authorities say they've cleared more than 15 vehicle burglaries and recovered more than $10,000 in stolen property.
Three of the six suspects -- Krolcyzyk, Garza and Post -- have been arrested. Warrants are still out for the arrests of Evans, Horak and Hughes.
