HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A Houston police officer opened fire on a vehicle who tried to run him over in north Houston.
Around midnight, the officer spotted a stolen vehicle on the North Freeway at Riggs. The officer pulled the driver over, but when he got out of his squad car, the driver then tried to run him over.
The officer then drew his duty weapon and opened fire on the vehicle but missed.
The officer chased after the vehicle, which was now going the wrong way on the freeway feeder. The driver eventually bailed out and took off on foot around Airline and Crosstimbers. He has not been caught.
A male and female passenger in the car did not run and police have not charged them with a crime. The female passenger was treated by paramedics on scene after suffering a panic attack.
