Motorcycle rider dies after crashing bike on Allen Parkway

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A motorcycle rider lost their life after crashing on Allen Parkway just west of Downtown Houston.

Houston police say the lone rider was traveling westbound on the road at a high rate of speed when he lost control, hit the curb and was thrown off the bike.

The rider died on the scene. Police do not know if he was wearing a helmet.

There were no other vehicles involved in the crash.
