HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A man with previous convictions for driving under the influence has been charged with murder after a deadly crash on the Eastex Freeway overnight Saturday.
Ryan McLaughlin, 31, has been identified as the driver of a white Dodge Ram that hit the passenger side of a Chevy Trailblazer.
According to police, McLaughlin ran a red light when he drove through the intersection of the Eastex Freeway soutbound feeder of Aldine Mail Route.

The woman in the Trailblazer, Zulema Gonzalez, was killed. McLaughlin was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
McLaughlin showed signs of extreme impairment and blood tests showed the man was almost four times the legal limit, police said.
After a background check, ABC13 learned that McLaughlin has been convicted twice for DWI.
