HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A man who broke into a home is now in the hospital after he was shot by one of his accomplices, authorities say.
Deputy constables with Harris County Precinct 4 say it happened around 6:50am Monday at a home in the 2400 block of Green Knoll Drive.
Deputies say three masked men armed with handguns broke into the home. The gunmen then got into an altercation with the homeowner and adult son.
One of the suspects then opened fire, hitting one of his accomplices. The two uninjured gunmen then fled on foot.
The wounded gunman was taken to Ben Taub Hospital, listed as stable with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. It's believed robbery was the motive.
