Man seen with body in plastic container in Harris Co. motel

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Police are searching for a man they say was seen carrying a dead body in a plastic container.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office was called to the Champions Lodge on the 4700 block of FM 1960 west just after 6pm. A caller told authorities that a man was spotted transporting a body stored in a plastic container.

When authorities arrived on the scene, the suspect had already fled. He is described as a black male in his 40s.

Harris County deputies say the motel manager saw the man taking out the body and called police. Investigators are still trying to determine the victim's cause of death.

Guests have been evacuated from the building and are still waiting to return to their rooms as the investigation proceeds.

The victim's identity has not been released.
