Houston man on trial for allegedly assaulting deputies

HOUSTON -- The trial of a man facing two charges of aggravated assault against a public servant is underway in Montgomery County.

Tuad Damonn Washington, 43, of Houston, is accused trying to run over Montgomery County sheriff's deputies in an attempt to escape from The Woodlands Mall after an alleged spree of shoplifting and credit card abuse Jan. 2, 2013, according to prosecutors.

There are separate theft and credit card abuse charges pending against Washington.
