HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Dozens of people marched through downtown Houston in support of marijuana bills.
This is the 2015 Global Marijuana March. There were similar marches across the country and around the world. The marchers want to raise awareness about various marijuana legalization bills in the Texas legislature.
"It's a celebration of our efforts that have gained a lot of momentum over the past few months with bills that are currently pending in the legislature. We're raising awareness about those bills and how people can help out with their support," said Jason Miller, pro marijuana activist.
The first Global Marijuana Day March was held in 1999. This was the first large scale marijuana march held in Houston for this event.
