HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The realtor who dubbed one of the properties he's selling as the "filthiest home in Houston" says the bank has rejected over 40 offers for purchase.

The latest was denied last week, according to realtor Paul Gomberg with Keller Williams of Conroe.

Gomberg showed off the home in January with a video he posted to YoutTube. He gives the viewer a look inside - a tour which highlighted the home on Willow Walk Lane in advanced stages of neglect.

The property was overrun by the 12 dogs, 7 cats and a pot belly pig left behind after the owners abandoned it. Neighbors said you could smell the feces and urine from the street.

A neighbor spent $1,200 of their own money on partially cleaning up the interior of the home.

By all accounts this once was a beautiful, well kept 4-5 bedroom home built in 1978.

"The whole thing is just baffling," said Gomberg.

He told Eyewitness News the latest potential buyer offered to pay $218,000 for the home and he claims representatives of PennyMac rejected that offer, stating they would not sell the home for less than $280,000.

"Nobody would touch this thing for 280. I tell them I wouldn't," Gomberg said.

Gomberg doesn't understand why the bank won't take a reduced offer versus foreclosing on the property. Those who live nearby look forward to the day it's sold to owners and restored to its old glory.

"The house needs to be maintained. The neighbors deserve for this house to be cared for and lived in," said neighbor and former Huntwick Forest board member Van English.

We attempted unsuccessfully to find the property owners for comment. PennyMac did not return repeated calls either.
