A man with two previous convictions for driving under the influence is facing intoxication manslaughter charges for a fatal crash on the Eastex Freeway overnight.

A Chevy Trailblazer was heading northbound on the feeder road near Aldine Mail Route at Eastex Freeway when they stopped at a red light.

A Dodge pickup ran the red light and hit the Trailblazer, police said. A woman in the Trailblazer was killed, while the driver of that vehicle was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

The driver of the Dodge, a 31-year-old man, showed signs of extreme impairment and blood tests showed the man was almost four times the legal limit, police said.

No names have been released.
