Donations, gifts come in for family of boy killed in SE Houston drive-by shooting

A boy is dead and his brother in a hospital after someone started shooting at their home early Friday morning.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The family of a 6-year-old boy who was killed in a drive-by shooting Friday in southeast Houston has now received more than $5,000 in donations.

"I want to thank everybody for caring about my family," said his mother, Elizabeth Garcia.

Six-year-old Moises Jimenez died after he was shot in the back.

Eleven-year-old Manuel Jimenez, who was injured in the shooting, remains in intensive care. On Saturday, he learned his brother was killed.

The family is planning on using the $5,000 to cover medical and funeral expenses.

Nobody has been arrested in the deadly drive-by shooting.
