Precinct 7 Deputy Alden Clopton, who was shot multiple times during a traffic stop in April, was released from the hospital Thursday.
"He still has a long way to go but he's glad to come home and recover with the girls," his wife told abc13.
Authorities said Clopton was wearing a protective vest when he was shot on April 13 several times from behind as the assailant stood on the other side of a four-lane road in a neighborhood just northeast of Texas Southern University.
A person of interest was taken into custody in the case, but police determined that person was not a suspect.
