Marla Carter: Neighbors say they are shocked
Our news crew has seen officers walking around with flashlights for now, but when the sun comes up, hopefully detectives will have better visibility of the scene.
Police received a call to 911 overnight from a witness, who says they were hearing voices in the field.
When police arrived, they found a man badly burned inside.
Detectives say the man is so severely burned that investigators will need a forensics expert just to identify him.
There are homes in the area, but the area I pretty much vacant. The field is an open lot that appears to have a well-worn pathway. We can see what looks like a barn in the back of the field, but no livestock.
They do have some leads on who the victim may be based on the license plate and the make of the truck, but again will need the help of a forensics expert to confirm their identity.
