Houston Humane Society looking for suspect in animal cruelty case

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A chocolate lab is in grave condition. Frail, shaking and visibly afraid, the dog is at the center of an animal cruelty investigation in Houston.

The Houston Humane Society got a tip online about the dog that was left alone in the garage of an abandoned house off Taranto. The owners were nowhere to be found.

While officers in Precinct 5 are trying to track down the dog's owners the Humane Society is nursing the animal back to health.

They've named her Bella, which in Italian means beautiful.
