HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Carlos Correa is restless for a very good cause.
The Houston Astros short stop and AL Rookie of the Year spent part of his weekend giving away brand new beds to children in need.
Houston Children's Charity's "A Better Night's Sleep" program was averaging about 100 beds a month to households where some children didn't own a bed.
After the floods earlier this year, the need was even greater, according to Laura Ward, with Houston Children's Charity.
"When he found out we gave 100 beds a month, he wasn't satisfied with that," Ward says. "...and he's not going to stop until he gets to his 2000. That's Carlos."
Correa says he was impacted by the need and the looks on the children's faces as they came to pick up their beds.
HCC's program provides eligible households with mattresses, foundations, bed frames, sheets, pillows and blankets for kids in need.
