Argument between friends on Highway 288 ends in gunfire

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- An argument between two friends ended in gunfire. One of those two men is now recovering at the hospital and the other is on the run.

It happened around 10:30pm last night on Highway 288 at Yellowstone.

Police say the man's vehicle broke down, so he called his friend to help. As the two were troubleshooting the car trouble, they began to argue. The man called to help then grabbed a gun and shot his friend twice.

The victim was taken to the hospital, and he is expected to survive. The shooter is still on the loose.

It is not clear what led to the argument.
