Alleged assault suspect surrenders to SWAT team in SW Houston

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A SWAT standoff has ended at a home in southwest Houston.

Houston police responded to a home in the 7700 block of Sign Street around 5:45am after reports that a man had assaulted a family member and refused to come out.

The family member was safely outside of the home when officers arrived, but the 43-year-old male suspect was still inside. Police say he was armed with a pistol.
