5-year-old girl struck and killed on bicycle in Cypress
CYPRESS, TX (KTRK) -- A five-year old girl died after being struck while riding a bicycle in Cypress Friday night.
Harris County Sheriff's Office said the accident happened at the 13700 block of Lawrence Trace Court in Cypress.
Investigators revealed the crash involved a Ford F-150 which struck a 5-year-old girl on a bicycle.
The 17-year-old, male driver of the Ford F-150 was traveling north through the residential street and was in the process of turning around in the cul-de-sac, when the 5 year old child crossed the into his path.
The little girl was taken to the hospital where she later died.
The neighbor that called 911 said the parents are devastated and that the girl was outside along with her father when the accident happened.
Deputies did a thorough investigation and say drugs, alcohol and speed do not appear to be factors in the accident.
