Many of you have been touched this week by the story of the devoted homeless dog who refused to leave his dead dog companion after she was hit by a car.

Here's Deborah Wrigley's story of how the dog, now called "Romeo" was discovered and rescued from the street:

Earlier this week, Romeo's foster parents, brother & sister Amanda and Paul Luckey gave Don Nelson an update on how Romeo is doing now.

Romeo has heartworms and some other health issues that will need treating before he is ready for his forever home. If you want to follow Romeo's progress, you can follow along on Facebook.

Getting this young pup healthy will also take time and money. If you would like to donate to his care, a fundraising site has been set up for Romeo. Click here to donate.

And if you're interested in adopting Romeo, you can shoot the Luckeys an email. Their address is abc13pup@gmail.com
