According to Det. Capt. Tim Davis, of the Greeneville Police Department 911 dispatchers received a call about an overturned basket on the ride.

Police estimate the children fell 35-45 feet.

Two of the victims were airlifted to a local trauma center and one went there by ambulance.

Davis said all three were awake, alert and answering questions.

"We have no idea," how the accident unfolded, Davis added.

The Green County Fair announced on their Facebook page that all rides will be shut down "until further notice."

The ride that failed is run by Family Attractions Amusements based out of Valdosta, GA. This is the fourth year of their five year contract.

A third-party investigation is getting underway, and is expected to take a few days. The inspectors will look at a handful of rides-inflatables run by the fairground, another handful run by a third company, and about 20 rides run by this company in question.
