HOUSTON -- Two men face up to life in prison for the 2013 gang-related killing of a teen whose mutilated body was dumped in Sam Houston National Forest.

Cristian Alexander Zamora and Ricardo Leonel Lara, both of El Salvador, pleaded guilty Friday in Houston to murder.

Federal prosecutors say the men used a machete and bats to kill 16-year-old Josael Guevara. Investigators believe the men were part of a violent street gang and their bosses ordered Zamora and Lara to kill the teen amid some type of dispute.

The victim was a sophomore at Klein Forest High School in Houston.
