Police say they linked a weapon used in a robbery murder in the 6300 block of Skyline to two other similar murders in the area.

In the Skyline robbery, two men tried to rob Juan Chamorro, 22, and his friend in the parking lot of an apartment complex. As Chamorro tried to run from the scene, he was shot and killed.

Police say a follow-up investigation into the case linked the weapon used in that robbery to another in the 9600 block of South Gessner on October 31. Daniel Martinez, 34, was killed in that robbery. The gun was also connected to the robbery murder of Jose Moreira, 32, in the 5900 block of Rampart on November 29, police say.

Authorities assert all of the cases involved at least two black male suspects of similar description who appeared to be targeting Hispanic males in apartment complex parking lots in southwest Houston.

Police say Drayton's license plate and gray Dodge Charger led to his arrest in December 2014. Authorities say they found stolen items from the robberies in his possession.

Foster was arrested on Monday, deemed by police an accomplice in at least two cases that involved murder.

Investigators continue to ask any additional victims or anyone with additional information to come forward. You can contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600.
