HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Thieves going for easy cash tried to hit an ATM at Miller Outdoor Theatre in Houston's Hermann Park.
Police say thieves pulled up in a large SUV and knocked the ATM off a pedestal that also held a statue of Oliver Twist outside the theater offices.
Witnesses say the crooks took off without getting any cash from the ATM.
Officials say the art piece wasn't damaged in the incident, but there was about $5,000 to $6,000 in damage to the wall.
The production of Godspell will go on as scheduled at Miller Outdoor Theatre.
A police investigation into the crime is ongoing.
