A man who believes the Earth is flat is going to launch himself in a homemade rocket.

Mike Hughes is a limo driver and a self-taught rocket scientist.

He built a rocket out of salvage parts in his garage and set a launch date for Saturday.

He plans to fly over a small ghost town in California.

If he survives, he'll attempt to reach space, he says.
