ABC-13's Melanie Lawson honored with Jade Award

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- We want to congratulate our own "Live at Five" anchor Melanie Lawson.

Former longtime ABC-13 reporter Elma Barrera presented Melanie with the Jade Award from the Women in Film and Television Houston.

The group honored Melanie for her longtime work at ABC-13 and for all the things she does to give back to the community.

Melanie was also presented with a special proclamation from the City of Houston.
