Houston man believes HPD officer pulled him over for more than a violation
HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Just hours after Houston announced new police reforms, a video of a confrontational traffic stop is under investigation.
A viral Instagram live video shows Quentin R. Jiles getting pulled over by a Houston police officer on U.S. 59 near Westpark. Jiles said the reason behind it was ridiculous and believes his skin color played a factor in the stop.
Jiles said the officer was on his motorcycle riding his bumper and flagging him to move over. When he did just that, he says things took a turn.

"He was on his way past me," he said. "But, honestly, me looking at him challenged his authority like, 'Who am I to look at him?'"
Jiles said the officer approached him very aggressively. Jiles believes had he challenged his authority, he would not be here telling his story.
"When I got home, I had a moment of 'Oh my gosh,'" he said
This comes the same day that Mayor Sylvester Turner and Chief Troy Finner announced a number of changes in order to reform the police department and restore trust in the public.
Jiles said he was glad to hear about the new implementations on Thursday, but he's still a bit skeptical. As far as his incident, he's filing a complaint.
