Dangerously cold conditions led to a hard freeze Monday morning.

An Extreme Cold Warning is in effect for all of Southeast Texas until noon Tuesday. Temperatures will fall well below freezing by sunrise on Monday.

As the arctic airmass crosses our area, power and water outages and partial road closures have affected most communities north and west of Houston. Montgomery County experienced widespread outages by Sunday evening, officials said.

Many school districts and universities, as well as public offices and courts, are closed on Monday due to inclement weather.

Montgomery Co. judge says water restored for neighborhood that suffered outage during winter storm

Water has been restored in a Montgomery County neighborhood that county officials say had not had water since Saturday.

According to County Judge Mark Keough, water was restored, and pressure was within normal range at the Lexington Heights subdivision in Willis, off FM 1097, by Monday morning.

The judge said the outage prompted the county to host a water distribution, where cars of people from the subdivision formed a line to pick up their cases.

"I moved in yesterday, and I'm just without water and kind of just freezing out here, but trying to get some free water," resident Nathan Nguyen told ABC13 before the repairs. "It's pretty nice that they're able to do it for us, and I appreciate it."
