HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A Houston man is still recovering at Memorial Hermann Hospital after being struck by lightning.

"I'm in a little pain. My body feels sore around my arms and chest but I feel very grateful to God because once more he has shown his power and glory," said Perez. "I don't remember anything until I was in the ambulance. They told me that lightning had hit me but I didn't feel anything when it hit."
Perez said he should've taken Wednesday's storms more seriously.

"Don't commit the same error as me. Watch the storms nearby and continue working," said Perez. "When they see something like that, get down. Be aware, because nobody knows what the storm is going to do."
Perez remains unable to work and is the sole provider for a family of four.
The Perez family has set up a GoFundMe account to help cover the extensive medical costs.
The family appreciated the thoughts, prayers, and donations they received.
