SWAT situation ends in League City with suspect evading police

LEAGUE CITY, TX (KTRK) -- An overnight SWAT scene has ended in League City but police are still looking for their man.

Police surrounded a home in Rancho Del Ray mobile home park. They spent hours there before spraying tear gas inside and making entry. The man was not inside.

Officers say it started around 10:30 last night after an accident on the Gulf Freeway. An off-duty officer was trying to help when they say the man shot at him then ran. Police were then led to the mobile home park.

Some neighbors were evacuated overnight as a precaution as police surrounded the home. They are being allowed back inside now that the scene is clear.
