Pedestrian fatally struck by vehicle in League City

LEAGUE CITY, TX (KTRK) -- A 31-year-old man was struck and killed this morning trying to cross a road in League City.

Police responded to the scene just after 5:30am where they found the 31-year-old victim on the East League City Parkway.

The Chevy Malibu driver who hit the man stayed at the scene of the accident, and is not likely to be charged, according to police.

Police say the victim was hit in an unlit section of the roadway and wore dark clothing.

The victim has been identified, but his name has not been released.
