LAS VEGAS, NV (KTRK) -- A Las Vegas crook took a gamble when he held up a store employee for a platter of nachos.
Surveillance video shows Anthony Gioiosa as he follows a clerk into the convenience store. He then pulls a gun out and points it at Jaime Valdez.
Valdez says all he took was a tray of nachos.
"I talked to the customer," Valdez says, "and I said, 'You need to pay.' He said, 'No, I'm not going to pay.'"
There was a physical confrontation outside before police say Gioiosa pulled out the weapon.
"When people steal something, I'm angry," Valdez says.
Police say he fired one shot behind the counter as the clerk sprinted out the back door.
Officers caught up with Gioiosa after a short car chase, and the 24-year-old accused nacho thief is now looking at burglary, assault and weapons charges.
