HOUSTON (KTRK) -- You've waited long enough, and now Krispy Kreme is returning to Houston.

After leaving the Houston area nearly a decade ago, the doughnut shop is scheduled to open a location at 8611 Westheimer on Tuesday.

To attract customers, Krispy Kreme is offering the first 100 people in line free doughnuts for a year.

Another store will open later at 5603 Highway 6. The company also says another Houston location will be opened before the end of the year.

Krispy Kreme closed all its stores in Houston in 2006 after a disagreement between the company and franchise owners.
