Kingwood teen follows dream to play football

KINGWOOD, TX -- Amidst the helmet and pads traditionally worn by football players are the hopes and dreams of those playing the game each week.

Destiny Armendariz, a student at Creekwood Middle School in Kingwood, is following that dream.

Inspired by her grandfather and older brother, Emil Armendariz, Jr., who plays football at Kingwood High School; Destiny is currently in her second year of playing football on the "B" squad at Creekwood Middle School.

She is the second girl to play football for Creekwood Middle School.
