Kingwood mom celebrates students after her special needs son named homecoming king

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Noah Stroud and Sofia Malvaez were announced as this year's Kingwood High Homecoming King and Queen.

What makes this even more special is the support, inclusion and friendship that the Kingwood High senior class has forged with Noah who has autism.

"We are so proud of the students at KHS and how they have embraced our son with special needs, Noah," Noah's mother, Cara Stroud, first stated on Facebook. "Electing him as Homecoming King shows all of us how kind and gracious the teenagers are at Kingwood High. Please know that this not only makes Noah feel included and well-liked but his family and friends also. The students of KHS deserve the recognition of how they have seen past one boy's disability and have accepted him as one of their own. This isn't just a win for Noah, but for the whole student body of Kingwood High School."
