Police: Stranger offers Katy ISD student a ride

KATY, TX (KTRK) -- Police are looking for a man they say approached a Katy ISD student and offered her a ride.

The Seven Lakes Junior High student was walking back home in the 6100 block of Sierra Springs Lane in the Westheimer Lakes North subdivision after missing her bus when man allegedly offered her a ride to school, Katy Independent School District police say.

Police say the student refused the ride and continued walking, but the man then allegedly asked her what school she attended and she told him. and the man then claimed he worked at her school and could give her a ride. According to police, the girl refused the ride again and continued walking home, and then the man drove away.

The stranger who approached the girl is described as a black man with short hair and no facial hair, driving a black or dark red colored car.
