Kaitlyn selected 'Bachelorette,' this season promises sexy drama

NEW YORK -- The episode began with Chris Harrison telling Britt that she was not "The Bachelorette". She was very disappointed by the news that most of the guys chose Kaitlyn over her. Chris Harrison tried to reassure her that the vote was very close. I was shocked that Chris Harrison walked Britt out without even letting her say goodbye to the guys! I guess they figured it would be less embarrassing for her this way? On the limo ride out, Britt said that she didn't see it coming at all and she began to cry. She added that she almost wished she hadn't met the guys because it made it so much harder to leave.

Next, Chris Harrison went to see Kaitlyn of course and told her that "Unfortunately, I had to send Britt home; you're going to be 'The Bachelorette'"! She cried tears of joy at the news and asked how Britt took it, and Chris Harrison told her that she was shocked and a little upset but she took the news well. It was sweet of Kaitlyn to ask about her though. She said that she didn't know what to say and Chris Harrison said, "Just say you're 'The Bachelorette'". BAM

She took a few minutes to take it all in and tell her parents the news. After that Chris Harrison told the guys the votes were in and introduced Kaitlyn as "The Bachelorette". The guys cheered when she walked in, although you could read the disappointment on some of their faces. Shawn B. almost cried tears of joy over the news, but Ian grabbed her aside right away for some solo time. But, the welder Joshua really impressed her with his custom steel rose that he had created just for her. That wasn't the only rose in the room; the first impression rose came out on a little platter. Kaitlyn has to make some big decisions right off the bat.

Kupa spoke to Kaitlyn about stepping out of her comfort zone and he seemed like he was in it for the win and was going at her very aggressive when it came to questioning her. Then it was just a parade of guys who were all fighting for time with her as she needs to eliminate six men tonight! Tony is sitting in the other room sulking that Britt isn't there anymore so he says he's considering going home.

Jared took his alone time with Kaitlyn to tell her that he had voted for Britt but he still wants to be there to get to know her. She said she appreciated it and it made her think that she really has to make sure these men are interested in being there for her. Country singer Brady says that he had some extremely strong feelings for Britt and now he doesn't know what to do with those feelings. I really wish they could have kept both women there, it would have been interesting to see, and that's for sure!

JJ and Kaitlyn had an interesting talk about putting themselves out there. Kaitlyn said that she's really into him because he seems really familiar but different at the same time. Chris said that he was really grateful that Kaitlyn was there and he stammered around really nervous and went in for the FIRST kiss. A group of about three guys happened to see it and spread it around to all of the other guys.

After speaking to a few more guys, Kaitlyn picked up the first impression rose and gave it to Shawn B.! I knew it! Chris may have gotten the first kiss but Shawn B. got the first impression rose. She told him that she couldn't wait to take him out on a date and he accepted the rose. He got the second kiss! There seemed to be a lot of passion in that kiss!

Before you know it, the guys are all lined up and waiting for the first rose ceremony. The men receiving roses were:

But wait, DRAMA alert. Brady pulls Kaitlyn aside and told her that he respects her so much but that he wants to leave because he has strong feelings for Britt. Kaitlyn was thrown for a bit of a loop but she wished him well and sent him on his way. Then, the rose ceremony continued.

And there you have it! The amateur sex expert got the boot, the stripper danced his last dance, and a few other Britt lovers all left. A preview of the season showed them all traveling the world, having romantic moments and of course some drama and tears! I'm really excited that comedian Amy Schumer is going to be on an episode! Oh, and who's that strutting back in...Nick Viall! What?! Bombshell! Andi's runner up is taking a shot at love with Kaitlyn! Then, they showed a naked guy running away and Kaitlyn said one of her relationships went too far too fast. Yikes! Kaitlyn flat out admits to the guys that she had sex with someone there and a lot of the guys are of course very upset about that. She's really upset about it and it will remain to be seen if she can pull it together and find true love in this process. We'll have to wait and see!
