HOUSTON (KTRK) -- JJ Watt is still just a big kid, who is thirsty for wins in 2014.

The Texans best player teamed up with Gatorade today at the Houston Texans YMCA to discuss the Gatorade Beat the Heat program. Watt not only played football with the kids, he talked about proper hydration and heat safety.

"Growing up in Wisconsin and growing up in Houston are two different things, especially growing up down here, the kids need to understand how important hydration is.," Watt said. "Dehydration is a serious issue, and if you aren't putting the right stuff, in your body on a consistent basis after you work out, you are going to have problems."

Watt also is getting adapted to the Texans new coaching staff, and says his teammates are learning the Bill O'Brien brand of football.

"As a leader you have to buy in so the others buy in, and when everybody buys in that's when you have a truly successful team," said Watt.
