Jared Black - Student victim of Santa Fe High School mass shooting

SANTA FE, Texas (KTRK) -- Jared Black celebrated his 17th birthday just days before the deadly shooting at Santa Fe High School.

He was excited about celebrating his birthday Saturday night. Sadly, the party would never happen.

Black was in art, his favorite class, when the gunman opened fire on Friday morning.

Family members said Black loved to play video games on his Xbox and enjoyed drawing.

His father was shocked when he received the heartbreaking news, saying, "He would never hurt anyone."
