Texans-49ers Joint Practice
We are only two days away from the Houston Texans first preseason game against the 49ers and today both teams held a joint practice.

SANTA CLARA, CA (KTRK) -- With only two days away from the Houston Texans first preseason game against the San Francisco 49ers, both teams held a joint practice. Missing from practice: Jadeveon Clowney and Nick Martin. Brian Cushing had the day off and Christian Covington returned to practice.

The intensity cranked up three or four notches against the 49ers. The Texans quickly jumped into live drills against San Francisco. The Texans receivers performed well. I thought the Niners defensive line got the better of the Texans offensive front.

The 49ers can't cover DeAndre Hopkins. No one else can either.

Brock Osweiler hit rookie Will Fuller on a great deep ball in team drills. The kid can fly. Later, Osweiler threw late over the middle and was picked off.

Kareem Jackson grabbed an interception and scored on a long return. Jackson had a nice celebration with his teammates.

Jaelen Strong made a great, one-hand catch along the sideline with a defender draped all over him.

The Texans run game struggled to get going. As expected with a line missing three starters.

Brock Osweiler hit CJ Fiedorowicz for a nice TD in goal line drills.

Rookie Stephen Anderson made several plays in 1-on-1 drills versus San Francisco's defensive backs.

Early in drills Bill O'Brien yelled out, "This is professional football!"

Will Fuller made an earlier, nice leaping catch over a defender.

Late in practice Brandon Weeden hit rookie Wendall Williams on a deep ball that just missed a touchdown. Williams caught it and stepped out of bounds inside the five yard line.

The Niners had a hard time covering Braxton Miller early in team drills.

The weather is spectacular. Sunny in the 60s early. Low 70s with a breeze later. Sorry, I had to report.
