Flood victims get support from local churches, volunteers

Storm victims find aid from Houston churches, donors
From toiletries to clothes and even a hot meal, Houstonians are stepping up to help storm victims.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- As neighbors affected by the floods work to clean up, churches across the area are accepting donations for victims of these devastating storms.



At the Harvest Time Church in the Greenspoint area, volunteers began the day at 8am, working to make sure those affected have everything they need.

This is how you can help Houstonians.




People are getting basic life necessities, from toiletries, cleaning supplies, even fans to help cool off.



Most expressed they didn't know exactly what they would do with their flooded homes, now four days into the storms. One woman told Eyewitness News she hoped to make repairs and stay in Greenspoint.



Generous Houstonians have been delivering supplies all day long, while volunteers work to get storm victims situated with what they need to live.

The Red Cross even has a canteen making hot meals at the church.
