Carlos Correa trades in bat for fishing pole at Bass Pro Shops

KATY, Texas (KTRK) -- Astros star Carlos Correa traded in his baseball bat for a fishing pole Saturday morning at Bass Pro Shops.

The All-Star shortstop and his fiancee, Daniella Rodriguez, surprised nearly 100 kids at the Katy Mills location.

Correa talked to the kids about casting a line, baiting a hook and how to identify a fish. He showed off his fishing skills by reeling in a plastic fish during a demonstration.

Last week, Correa went to his hometown in Puerto Rico to help thousands of residents still recovering from Hurricane Maria.
