Firefighter hospitalized after battling house fire in NW Houston

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A firefighter has been transported to the hospital from the scene of a house fire in northwest Houston.

The fire broke out at a home on Bent Branch Drive, near Alabonson Road.

The firefighter was taken to the hospital for treatment due to heat exhaustion.

Houston Fire Department says the firefighter was not looking well, and was only sent to the hospital as a precaution.

The fire was contained to the garage, which suffered very little damage. There were no injuries reported.
