Driver slams into woman in NW Harris Co., takes off

HARRIS COUNTY, TX (KTRK) -- Deputies are investigating a deadly hit and run accident in northwest Harris County.

A woman was crossing West Road, just off Veterans Memorial, around 1am when a small, white SUV hit her. Investigators say the driver never stopped.

Harris County Sheriff's deputies are now looking through surveillance video from nearby businesses to see if they can find out more about the driver.

The woman who died has not been identified yet.

Investigators say the victim had just left a convenience store before she was hit.
