MISSOURI CITY, TX (KTRK) -- Houston Methodist Hospital Sugar Land (HMSLH) has completed the first of several Fort Bend area expansion projects announced last fall, as the Houston Methodist Emergency Care Center officially opened its doors Tuesday, July 15, in the epicenter of Highway 6's rapidly developing stretch through Missouri City.
The 9,600-square-foot facility is open 24 hours a day at 8200 Hwy. 6, bordering both the rapidly developing master-planned communities of Riverstone and Sienna Plantation. The HMSLH satellite includes 10 private treatment rooms and full-service X-ray, as well as CT and ultrasound capabilities.
The $8 million emergency care center will also expand HMSLH's primary care presence in the Missouri City area, said Chris Siebenaler, CEO of HMSLH, during an open house event on Thursday, July 10. In addition to trained nursing and ancillary staff, the center will be staffed by board-certified physicians from the main HMSLH campus at the Southwest Freeway, trained in pediatric, geriatric and emergency care.
