How to turn in your unwanted prescription drugs

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Gather up those unwanted prescription drugs -- it's national Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.



As part of the annual event, pills and solid prescriptions will be collected by local law enforcement agencies. Liquids and needles are not accepted.



Eight previous events have removed more than 4.1 million pounds of prescriptions from circulation, according to the DEA.



Collection drives at the locations listed below are happening from 10am until 2pm today.



1) Kingwood (Metro Park and Ride) - 3210 W. Lake Houston Parkway


2) Northeast Police Station - 8301 Ley Rd.


3) South Central Police Station - 2202 St. Emanuel


4) Westside Police Station - 3203 S. Dairy Ashford Rd


5) Southeast Police Station - 8300 Mykawa Rd.


6) Clear Lake Police Station - 2855 Bay Area Blvd.


7) South Gessner Police Station - 8605 Westplace Dr.


8) North Police Station - 9455 W. Montgomery
