Groundhog makes big Super Bowl 50 prediction

CHIMNEY ROCK, NC (KTRK) -- In North Carolina, a groundhog backed up Punxsatawney Phil and even made a prediction of his own.

Grady the Groundhog did not see his shadow on Tuesday, only confirming an early spring is ahead. But it's the prediction he made for Super Bowl Sunday that has many people up in arms.

NFL fans held their breath as Grady sauntered out of his cage for a little snack.

Two ears of corn, each marked with a logo for the Carolina Panthers and the Denver Broncos, awaiting the hungry rodent.

Grady predicts the Broncos will win Super Bowl 50, to the dismay of many Carolina fans.

This is the 11th year Grady has made such a prediction.
