BUCKEYE, AZ (KTRK) -- It was a scary scene on a Greyhound bus traveling in Arizona. A man on meth attacks the bus driver, and it was all caught on camera.
Sleeping passengers originally thought 25-year-old Marquel Morris had tripped and fell. They quickly realized they were wrong when they saw him attacking the driver.
Jeff Hawkins jumped into action, trying to pull Morris off the driver and stop him from grabbing the steering wheel. He was thrown onto a divider, where he broke his sternum and hurt his ribs.
"I could hear the crunching of the bones as they were broke, rubbing against each other as I tried to move," Hawkins said.
DPS says Morris was high on meth and extremely paranoid saying he thought someone was trying to kill him.
