HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Shoppers at the Galleria Mall Monday thought they heard gunshots, but it turned out to be a false alarm.
According to police, the noises shoppers heard stemmed from a child falling down an escalator. Authorities say a mother placed her child's stroller on the upstairs escalator and the child fell out of the stroller and down the escalator. The mother screamed and many shoppers panicked.
The child sustained minor injuries, but was OK.
The incident comes on the heels of another shooting scare at the Memorial City Mall last weekend.
