SPRING, TX (KTRK) -- A two-alarm fire destroyed 16 units Friday night at an apartment complex in Spring.
Firefighters were called to the 22000 block of Cypresswood Drive just before 7pm.
As the flames spread, residents went door-to-door to warn each other of the fire.
"We started to get our neighbors to get out and see what was going on," Amber Harrold said. "Before we knew it, the apartment had spread to our side."
Many residents left their homes with nothing. They are grateful to have made it out alive.
"Material (items) can be replaced, but I can't. Then I have a bride I have to marry in nine months," Kirkland Hall added.
One firefighter was treated for smoke inhalation on scene, but he is expected to be OK.
