Fire at recycling center sends plumes of smoke into the sky

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Authorities are working to extinguish a fire at the Elephant Recycling scrapyard near downtown Houston.

The fire was reported around 1 p.m. on Lawndale Street.

Large plumes of smoke can be seen from the area while fire crews worked to contain the flames.
